Biography
Kristin grew up in Cottage Grove, MN, a suburb sandwiched between farmland and the Twin Cities. She attended Carleton College with the intention of graduating with a degree in Biology, pre-med, and ready to continue her studies in veterinary medicine. As fate would have it, she was accepted into a beginning pottery class her junior year (one of two people enrolled from the waitlist!), fell in love with the material and process, and switched majors to Studio Art, and graduated with the rest of her class in 2000.
Graduate studies were completed at Penn State University in 2004. Kristin returned to Minnesota to head the ceramics department at Hamline University in St. Paul where she taught for 5 years before leaving to become a full time studio potter and mother. She currently works out of her home studio in Maplewood, MN.
